The Summer Peacebuilding Institute (SPI) is built around the belief that those working to bring about positive social change need to:
- Learn from each other
- Enhance their understanding of problems and possibilities
- Increase their practical skills for promoting change
- Take time for rest, reflection, and renewal

Courses are open to all people interested in integrating conflict transformation, peacebuilding, restorative justice, trauma awareness, and related fields into their own work and life.
SPI 2018 offers two 7-day sessions and two 5-day sessions, each with several courses running at the same time. Participants can take one course per session. Courses can be taken for professional skills training or academic credit. SPI 2018 will also include a final series of 3-day workshops in the last week.
The 2018 courses include Circle Process, led by Kay Pranis, and Truth-telling, Racial Healing and Restorative Justice, led in part by Fania Davis.
A $50 fee is due at the time of application. The five day course fee is $1,050, and the seven day course is $1,300, with separate fees for room and
board, transportation, and insurance coverage.
Scholarship and fellowship opportunities are available.
Participants are admitted on a rolling basis and may be admitted up to one week before the beginning of SPI, as space permits. Please apply early. Applications will be considered in the order that they arrive.
